About ISKCON
ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, was founded in New York in 1966 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. In 2026 it celebrates its 60th anniversary.
Today it has centres and communities around the world, including Lagos. Its members share devotional music, meditation, vegetarian food and the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita with everyone who wishes to learn.
About Ratha Yatra
Ratha Yatra is the festival of chariots. Its most famous celebration is at Jagannath Puri in India, where Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra are pulled through the streets on large decorated chariots.
During Ratha-Yatra, the Deities of the lord Jagannath, Lord Baladeva and Devi Subhadra are placed upon magnificent, beatuifully decorated chariots and joyfully pulled through the streets by thousands of devotees and well-wishers.Devotees and visitors of every background join the procession with singing, dancing and joy. ISKCON now holds Ratha Yatra festivals in cities across the world.
About Festival of India
The Iskcon Festival of India brings Indian and Nigerian culture and traditions to Lagos. It is a free celebration with PEACE WALK, classical and folk dance, live music, drama, yoga, talks and delicious vegetarian food.
Everyone is welcome. Come with your family and friends to enjoy the performances and learn about the heritage behind them.
